Sumikawa Snow Park Day Tour with Juhyo Visit

Located at an altitude of 1,100m in Miyagi Prefecture is the winter wonderland that is Sumikawa Snow Park. A popular destination for off-piste skiers and snowshoers alike, this ski resort is known for its high-quality powdery snow.

Kick-off your day at the park with an enjoyable ride on the "Wild Monster" a special vehicle that drives over snow. Deep in the pristine wilderness, you'll have the chance to see and even touch the world's rarest and most mysterious Juhyo "Snow Monsters" or ice-covered trees. Other interesting sights are the snow-covered crater lake of Zao Okama, or the "Snow Corridor" of Zao Echo Line, and the symbol of Zao. Being this high up on a mountain, you're also in for some breathtaking views of the Sendai Plain and even the Pacific Ocean on a clear day. 

Lunch will be served at a lovely resthouse. You may then spend the rest of the afternoon taking a stroll around the hot spring town and visiting footbaths, and public baths.

Please Note

• Please wear/bring weather-appropriate yet easy to move in clothing (thick jacket, knit cap, gloves, sunglasses) and motion sickness medicine if necessary.
• Tour is not recommended for those who have back and heart issues.
• Participants 2 years and younger who do not require a seat can join the tour free of charge.  They can sit on the lap of the guardian.
• In case of bad weather, the Juhyo or snow monster visit may be canceled and changed to the natural Kamakura (snow hut) tour. In that case, you cannot demand a refund.
